Brownie Points Bakery storefront

Partners Bob Conway and Peter Lloyd began brownie points bakery at the local Summit farmers market in 2007, baking their goods in the commercial kitchen of a friend in Garwood. Word of mouth spread of these baked from scratched treats and in 2008 they opened a storefront on beechwood road in the center of downtown Summit where they have been baking ever since.

Bob is a schooled professional pastry chef who graduated from ICE culinary in New York City. He completed his externship at famous Gramercy Tavern and worked in the pastry kitchen there for 2 years. Bob worked as a merchandise planner at Macys before starting his baking career.

Peter Lloyd was previously a buyer and regional merchant for Macys. He developed private label product for Macys historic herald square on 34th street NYC. He was also a toy buyer and worked on product development with the annual events team – including merchandise for the iconic Macys Thanksgiving Day Parade. Peter is the creative director at the bakery and is responsible for store presentation and social media.

The duffin was created in 2008 out of a need for a “muffin” during the off season for fresh local fruit – a flavor was needed and the cinnamon duffin was born. Part donut – part muffin – totally delicious, this baked cake donut is easily the most popular item sold in the bakery and a very popular item at the Summit farmers market.
